Digital Product Owner/Project Manager (6-12 months)

BS&T Digital working exclusively for Trafalgar Tours would love to meet a 1st class Digital Product Owner/Project Manager (fixed-term for 6-12 months) to join the team. You’ll work within a team whose sole focus is on Trafalgar’s digital efforts so this is very much akin to a client side role.

What you’ll be doing:

Working with global and regional stakeholders, you will be managing the full project lifecycle for Trafalgar’s web and mobile projects (covering e-commerce and online marketing). You will manage requirements gathering, scoping, design and development. You will be generating ideas and prioritising workflow to deliver exciting projects efficiently and effectively. This is a great opportunity to be involved in delivering leading consumer and business facing products and projects to international audiences and stakeholders.

  • Drive business value of Trafalgar’s digital products and platforms;

  • Manage the full project life cycle on our web and mobile applications;

  • Own the digital roadmap for your projects;

  • Lead and facilitate discovery and design phases, working with Trafalgar’s Global and regional stakeholders to determine business benefit, requirements and design;

  • Work directly with our developers and other external agencies to ensure smooth implementation and delivery of projects.

  • Facilitate and lead daily stand ups, sprint planning and sprint retrospective ceremonies with our team of developers.

  • Respond to and manage change requests from stakeholders across the Trafalgar business.

  • Manage relationships with our various technology suppliers and partners.

  • Recognise opportunities for improvement and champion process evolution.

  • Document systems & processes for managing Trafalgar’s online and mobile properties.

What you need to have: This highly visible role requires you to have a flexible approach and the ability to manage the day to day processes as well as taking a lead on new projects and technologies. The role will entail working independently as well as part of a team liaising between business functions and external agencies. The role reports to BS&T Digital’s head of technology.

The ideal candidate will be energetic and entrepreneurial with a real passion for online technologies, innovation and user experience.

  • A passion for travel;

  • At least four years of experience in Digital Projects as a Technical Business Analyst or Project Manager or Product Owner;

  • Experience running requirements and discovery workshops;

  • Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies;

  • Experience of project and resource planning;

  • Experience with web development and a deep understanding of the web/application development process, requirements gathering, design, implementation, delivery and support;

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relay often complex information clearly, tactfully and concisely in both written and verbal communications to a variety of people and group sizes;

  • Highly organised and disciplined to balance a number of priorities at any one time;

  • Self-motivated, can be relied upon to follow up questions and outstanding actions;

  • Superb attention to detail;

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure;

  • Educated to degree level, or possess relevant industry experience;

  • An understanding of content management systems;

What will get you bonus points:

  • Data analysis experience, and ability to extract valuable business insights

  • UX/UI, Information architecture (IA) experience
